11:34AM...AD blogging...Sorry it’s been a while since the last blog…lots have been going on…crazy ending to the game vs. Jacksonville, Sunday’s game being postponed due to mechanical problems with the Reading Railers bus…and a couple of roster changes which will be officially announced in the coming days. From reading the comments on the blog, a lot of you know that Saturday’s game was officially marked down in the books as a forfeit because Nighthawks forward Hugh “Baby Shaq” Jones came back from the locker room onto the floor after picking up his second technical foul. The Nighthawks were down 98-105 at the time and the officials were forced to end the game with 5:07 remaining. As stated in the PBL official rule book, a player who re-enters the the court after picking up their second technical foul is assessed a $500 fine and suspended for the next game. The team has decided to release Baby Shaq. It’s an unfortunate situation but coach Moten is all about being a professional. A complete recap from the game will soon be posted on the website.

10:37AM...AD here. I apologize for the lack of updates during this recent road swing...when not traveling with the team its hard to get all of the information, stats, and photos from the games immediately following the games. As you probably already have read, the Nighthawks were 0-2 on their road trip to Jacksonville and Wilmington. I heard the Jacksonville game was tight the whole way until the Jam pulled away in the final minutes. The Wilmington game however was a different story as the Sea Dawgs controlled most of the game building a 21-point second half lead which proved to be to much of a deficit for the Nighthawks to overcome. It was good to see David Bailey back on the floor after sustaining a concussion only five days prior to the Jacksonville game. Tamir Goodman and J.O. did not play. I'm hearing J.O. should be fine and set to go for this weekends' matchups while Tamir Goodman will be game time decisions. Lets see if the Nighthawks can pick up some wins this weekend! Post your comments and questions for the players and coaches and I will try to get them answered when I go to practice.

12:45PM…A.D. blogging live…what about this snow! Hope you guys are all safe and warm! Anyways, the Nighthawks are preparing for a two game road trip…with the three injuries the Nighthawks have suffered in this past week, the team has sign Derek Payne. The 6-foot-7 forward from Bowie State was with the team in training camp and was one of the final cuts. Payne has been practicing with the team for the entire season and will look to make his regular season debut in Jacksonville tomorrow. David Bailey, who suffered a concussion last Sunday is on the roster and will travel with the team. It's unsure if he will play. The team flys out of Reagan tomorrow morning at 10:40AM so hopefully this snow passes!

11:14AM…A.D checking in, the story of the week has been injuries. The team is down to nine healthy players, with Tamir Goodman still being sidelined by a dislocated finger, J.O. with a mild ankle sprain, and David Bailey with a concussion. They are all being held out of this weekend’s games at Jacksonville and Wilmington and will not be traveling with the team. J.O. and David Bailey are aiming for the Sat Jan. 26 game vs. Jacksonville to make their returns to the lineup. There is no return date set for Tamir Goodman as of now. Keep on checking the website for updates...going to head over to practice later tonight and interview some of the players for a story we’re working on and also video tape coach Lawrence Moten as the Rochester Razorsharks are retiring Moten’s former Syracuse teammate and Razorsharks player Lazarus Sims number and want a segment of Moten to play during the ceremony. Check back later for updates…

GAME DAY: WILMINGTON SEA DAWGS

10:32AM....AD here. I appoolgize for the long absence in blogging. I was on vacation and had no internet access…anyways what a busy week this has been. Radio and TV appearances, Nike Commercial shoot (more to come in a future blog) and Coach Moten announcing the final roster on Wednesday with a little bit of surprises. Randy “White Chocolate” Gill and Tyron “Alimoe” Evans are not on the opening night roster. Alimoe showed signs of promise but had some medical conditions that resulted in him not making the squad. White Chocolate has been seen at the Nighthawks practice gym but remains off the roster….the team is deep this year and should be exciting to watch them play. A surprise was Barry Mitchell, Barry an original Nighthawk, also not earning a roster spot. It’s a long season so with injuries and players being called up, you never know who will be signed. I also saw some Johnny Rhodes supporters on the blog…he did have an impressive training camp and played in the preseason game in Reading. Would have been nice to have a Terp on the team this year, but this team is a fast running team. I will be at the game at the scorers table doing the stats and will also be blogging live from the game courtside during the game breaks...so say hi to me! I know the Redskins game is today but come out to the Nighthawks game. The end of the Redskins game will be shown on a big screen TV at the game so you won’t miss any action. Online ticket sales are high so we anticipate a good sized crowd. Will check back in when I’m set up at the game!
